To provide an automobile cylindrical vibration isolator having a novel structure in which degree of freedom in designing a spring property is greatly obtained to facilitate manufacturing and mounting on an automobile.
A main rubber elastic body 16 is vulcanized and adhered to tapered inner peripheral surfaces 34, 36 of an outer cylindrical member 14, Opposed recesses 42a, 42b for spring adjusting are formed in a portion where a projection height from the tapered inner peripheral surfaces 34, 36 in the main rubber elastic body 16 is decreased. A pair of inner splits 18, 20 is inserted from axial both sides of the outer cylindrical members 14 to be mutually connected and fixed so as to form an inner shaft member 12. Tapered outer peripheral surfaces 24, 30 of the inner splits 18, 20 are brought in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the main rubber elastic body 16, so that the inner shaft member 12 and the outer cylindrical member 14 are elastically connected via the main rubber elastic body 16.
