To provide an automobile side structure capable of obtaining a SUV which commonly uses a basic skeleton such as a wheel base, a side sill or a pillar with a compact car and to which a door arch mold is fitted by using the compact car as a base, specifically, a SUV provided with sufficient tire clearance by securing a sufficient or tire bump amount.
The front edge side of a rear wheel arch 15 of a car body is hidden by a door arch mold 16 having a shape matching the rear wheel arch 15 and fitted to the lower edge part of a rear side door 9 when seen from a side face. A rear side door opening 24 of the car body is formed into a closed section body in which an open veranda side panel 25 exposed when a door is opened and the end of the car outside of a wheel house side panel 26. A corner part 25i of the open veranda side panel 25 closest to the car outside is formed to project to a car width direction outside more than a lower edge part 21a of an outer panel 21 of the rear side door 9 when the door is closed over a part along the rear wheel arch 15.
