Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light unit for liquid crystal display device with which non-uniformity in light emission on a display screen can be prevent without lowering luminance.
SOLUTION: This back light unit is constituted by overlapping a reflection plate 20, a light guiding plate, a first diffusion plate, first and second prism sheets an a second diffusion plate on a chassis 1 in this order and making them mutually tightly contact. An area A of the chassis 1 has a complicated form. On the surface of the reflection plate 20 opposed to the chassis 1, a gray rectangular light absorbing part 21 is provided in the area corresponding to the area A. The illumination light led into the light guiding plate is reflected from the surface of the reflection plate 20 and the light transmitted through the reflection plate 20 is absorbed by the light absorbing part 21.
