Abstract:
To provide a backlight device of edge-light type capable of improving a problem of color temperature unevenness even in small portable electronic equipment which has an extremely small amount of use of an element emitting blue light, and a liquid crystal display device using the same.
A backlight device has a light guide plate and a light source arranged at the end part of the light guide plate. The light source has an element emitting blue light, and the light guide plate contains phosphor fine particles which are excited by blue light and convert the wavelength of the blue light. Further, the liquid crystal display device includes the backlight device.
