To provide a ball movement measuring instrument that can measure the movement of a ball with accuracy.
This ball movement measuring instrument is provided with a tee 3 for placing a golf ball 1, first and second cameras 5 and 7, a pair of first stroboscopes 9, a pair of second stroboscopes 11, a pair of optical sensors 13, a CPU 15 which works as an arithmetic section, and a monitor 17 which works as a displaying section. The first and second cameras 5 and 7 are composed of CCD cameras respectively equipped with shutter functions. When a prescribed period of time elapses after the golf ball 1 is hit, the first camera 5 photographs the ball 1 and, after another prescribed time elapses, the second camera 7 photographs the ball 1. An expanded image is formed from obtained original image data and corrected data are obtained by performing strain correction or strabismus correction on read values obtained by pointing the expanded image. Based on the corrected data, the flying speed, spinning speed, or hit angle of the ball 1 is calculated.
