Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily guide and insert a balloon catheter through a fine guide passage. SOLUTION: In a balloon catheter 1 equipped with an outside tubular member 2 having a this side end part and a leading end part, an expansible balloon main body 4 adjacent to the leading end part of the outside tubular member 2 to be attached thereto by constituting a neck part 5 brought into contact with the end part of the outside tubular member 2 under pressure and a foldable balloon expanding part 6 connected to the neck part 5 and folded several times so as to be flattened in a circumferential direction in an unexpanded state, an inside tubular member 3 extends so as to pass through the outside tubular member 2 and the balloon main body 4. The end part of the balloon main part on the side opposite to the neck part 5 is connected to the inside tubular member 3, and the neck part 5 forms a contracted diameter part having a diameter smaller than that of the part brought into contact with the outside tubular member 2 of the neck part 5 under pressure between the part brought into contact with the outside tubular member 2 under pressure and the foldable balloon expanding part 6.
