Abstract:
To provide a groove cutting tool which has high accuracy and low manufacturing cost in a cutting tool for processing a toric groove such as an O-ring groove on a flat surface.SOLUTION: A base material of a groove cutting tool has: a shank which extends along a perpendicular central axis of a circular cross section; a detachably provided groove cutting blade base material (hereinafter, referred to as cutting blade base material), which is apart from the central axis and extends in parallel to the central axis, on one end face of the shank; and an auxiliary member for assisting cutting blade base material processing, which is detachably provided at a position substantially symmetrical to the cutting blade base material with respect to the central axis, on one end face of the shank. A groove cutting tool manufacturing method has: a step at which an outer periphery of the cutting blade base material and an outer periphery of the auxiliary member of the base material of the groove cutting tool are simultaneously processed by grinding; a step at which a distance between the outer periphery of the cutting blade base material and the outer periphery of the auxiliary member is measured during processing; and a step at which the auxiliary member is removed after the outer periphery thereof is processed to a prescribed dimension. Further, disclosed is a groove cutting tool manufactured by the above-said method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
