Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system including a nickel hydrogen battery and capable of improving battery performance while appropriately protecting a positive electrode.SOLUTION: A battery system 2 provides a cell 110 which is a nickel hydrogen battery, and an ECU 300 which executes output suppression control using detection results by a detection unit. The ECU 300 calculates cell resistance R from the cell voltage Vb' and the cell current Ib' detected by the detection unit. When the cell resistance R falls below a determination value R0, the ECU 300 calculates negative electrode resistance Rn by subtracting positive electrode resistance Rp from the cell resistance R, calculates negative electrode potential Vn of the cell 110 using negative electrode open potential OCVn of the cell 110, the negative electrode resistance Rn, and the cell current Ib' detected by the detection unit, and calculates positive electrode potential Vp of the cell 110 by adding the cell voltage Vb' detected by the detection unit to the negative electrode potential Vn. When the positive electrode potential Vp is not more than a predetermined value V0, the ECU 300 executes output suppression control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
