PURPOSE: To provide a new benzyhydryl derivative useful for treatment of such affections under the influence of calmodulin as angina, ischemia, asthma, gastrointestinal injury.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I and its salt which is acceptable in the medicine, for example, N-[2-(diphenylmethyl thio)ethyl]-2-(trifluoromethyl) benzene ethaneamine, is obtained by condensing the compound of formula I with the compound of formula III [Q is CHO or CH2Hal (Hal is Cl, Br or I). When Q is CHO, condensation is performed in the solvent such as THF under the reducing condition by using sodium borohydride, etc. When Q is CH2Hal, condensation is performed, for example, in methyl isobutyl ketone under the slightly alkaline condition by using K2CO3. In formula I, R1-R3 are each H, a lower alkyl, a halogen or CF3 and at least one of R1-R3 is a halogen or CF3; R4 is a halogen or CH3; (n) is 2-4; (m) is 1-3; and X is O or S.
