PURPOSE: To provide a novel benzopyran analogue having a remakable and durable blood pressure-lowering activity and further having a relaxation activity for vascular smooth muscle and other smooth muscles or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A benzopyran analogue of the formula [A is OR1, NHCOR2 (R1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, etc.; R2 is H, alkyl, amino, aryl, etc.]; R3 is H, alkyl, alkoxy, amino, aryl, etc.; or R2 and R3 form alkylene; R4, R5 are H, alkyl, or R4 and R5 form alkylene; R6 is H, OH, formyloxy, carbamoyloxy, etc.; R7 is H; R6 is bonded to R7; X is single bond, methylene, O, etc.; the ring B is benzene, 5-6 membered heterocyclic ring, etc.; but when X is O, the ring B is cyclic group excluding the (substituted) benzen ring] or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. For example, trans-3-acetoxy-4-(1,2-dicetylhydradino)-3,4- dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-2H-pyrano[3,2-C]pyridine.
