To obtain a new compound useful as a stabilizer for an organic material, especially a synthetic polymeric polyolefin.
This compound is represented by formula I [R1 and R2 are each a 1-25C alkyl, a 2-24C alkenyl, phenyl or the like; R3 to R8 are each H, an alkyl or the like; A is O-Z1, N(Z2)(Z3) or the like; Z1 to Z3 are each H, a 1-25C alkyl or the like; (n) is 1 or 2]. The compound is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula II with a compound represented by formula III in a solvent (e.g. toluene) or in the absence of the solvent at a temperature of 5°C to the boiling point. The compound represented by formula I is used for stabilizing an organic material susceptible to oxidative, thermal or light- induced degradation and added in an amount of 0.01-10 wt.% based on the weight of the organic material to be stabilized. The material to be stabilized may be in any form of presentation, typically sheets, filaments, ribbons, moldings, profiles or binders for coating compositions, adhesives or putties.
