PURPOSE: To reduce the number of times of inversion of an original by making a copying which becomes the first surface, continuously by a necessary copy number portion, and containing and loading it on an intermediate tray.

CONSTITUTION: For instance, five sheets of originals are fed to an original platen glass 3, copying is executed from an odd page, an operation for returning the original to an original placing plate 32 is repeated without inverting it, and after a smaller copy number by one copy than a necessary copy number is completed, an operation for inverting and returning the original to an original placing plate 32 after the copying is ended is executed. Next, when the original is fed out, an even page surface of the original is set so as to be opposed to the glass surface on the original platen glass 3, copying of the odd page is executed to the first surface, and copying of an even page is executed to the second surface side of a form P' contained and loaded on an intermediate tray 20. In this case, the original is returned without being inverted first, but a form P" to which copying of the second surface is ended, namely, the both face copy is inverted by an inverting device 25, and thereafter, discharged to a filting machine 50 side. By executing this operation, the copy P" is made on a tray 52 of the filing machine 50, and thereafter, a both face copying of a necessary copy number portion is made by executing repeatedly the same copying cycle.
