Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braid-like piezoelectric element which further enhances signal strength of a piezoelectric element using a piezoelectric fiber, and also to provide a cloth-like piezoelectric element using the braid-like piezoelectric element.SOLUTION: A braid-like piezoelectric element 1 includes: a core part 3 formed with a conductive fiber B and a sheath part 2 formed with a braid-like piezoelectric fiber A so as to cover the core part 3, and pull-out strength of the conductive fiber B is 0.1 N or more. In the braid-like piezoelectric element, the outer peripheral surface of at least one conductive fiber B is densely surrounded by a large number of piezoelectric fiber A. When deformation is generated in the braid-like piezoelectric element 1, stress due to deformation is generated in each of a large number of piezoelectric fiber A, thereby generating the electric field in each of a large number of piezoelectric fiber A (piezoelectric effect). As a result, voltage change caused by superimposing the electric field of a large number of piezoelectric fiber A surrounded by the conductive fiber B occurs in the conductive fiber B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
