Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an actual brake torque to a torque corresponding to a brake operation regardless of a friction coefficient between a friction engagement member and a brake rotor, and to excellently execute brake control even when the brake torque cannot be detected.
SOLUTION: In this brake torque controller, drive of an electric motor 30 opens a pair of shoes to apply brake force to a wheel by friction engagement between the shoes and the inner circumferential face of a drum. A strain sensor 314 detecting a load applied to an anchor pin detects the actual brake torque. The motor 30 is driven and controlled by feedback control using the actual brake torque such that the actual brake torque is equalized to a target brake torque decided corresponding to an operation amount of a brake pedal 40. When the actual brake torque cannot be detected because of a wheel stop or the like, the motor 30 is driven and controlled by operation force control using a current flowing through the motor 30 detected by a motor current sensor 31.
