Abstract:
To provide a braking device applicable for a guide roller of a shell rotation type or an axial rotation type, whichever, and still capable of post- installation to an existing guide roller without disturbing the operation of mechanism elements provided near the end of a guide roller.
A braking device for a guide roller 4 for guiding a band material includes a brake lining 61 provided on the periphery at the end of the guide roller 4, a brake band 64 provided on the outer periphery of the brake lining 61, and an actuator 63 for moving the brake band 64 nearer or farther away from the brake lining 61.
