Title:
BULK NONWOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION AND FEMALE PART FOR HERCULE'S FASTENER (R)
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3131559
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bulky nonwoven fabric whose ridge-like projection at a second fiber layer is useful as a female material for Hercule's fastener (R) by laminating the second fiber layer to a first face-shrinkable fiber layer, integrating them by linear interlacing followed by heat treatment.
SOLUTION: A first fiber layer 2 consisting of a thermally shrinkable fiber comprising a polymer containing at least 70wt.% of an ethylene-propylene random copolymer with a melting peak temp.: 130<Tm<145°C and having the maximal heat shrinkage of ≤50% or containing ≥30wt.% of latently shrinkable fiber developing three-dimensional crimping with heat is used. A second fiber layer 3 of polypropylene filament nonwoven fabric which does not substantially shrink at a temperature at which the first fiber layer 2 causes face shrinkage is laminated to at least one surface of the first fiber layer. The laminated fiber layers are injected with a high-pressure columnar water jet flow to form the interlaced areas 1 in lines. Then, they are heat-treated to form a ridge-like projection extending in the rectangular direction to the interlaced areas 1 whereby the objective bulky nonwoven fabric is obtained.
