To provide a burglar prevention device for housing, enabling operation for releasing a switch for warning means to be easily performed, suitable for general families with many comings and goings of visitors, and capable of easily discriminating whether a person who performs the opening/closing operation of a door is an outside person or a family member.

The control circuit 49 (warning operation limiting means) of a burglar prevention device 38 for housing is operated via a transmission circuit 68 disposed integrally with the key 58 of a locking device 44 so that a person who holds the key 58 of the locking device 44, i.e., only the inmate can readily switch a buzzer (warning means) between an operable state and an inoperable state. Since the locking/unlocking operations of the locking device 44 and the switching of the buzzer 48 (warning means) between an operation and non- operation can be performed by a single key 58, the operation at entering and leaving of a room can be facilitated; and since the operating condition of the buzzer 48 is observed, whether the person who performs the opening/closing operation of the door 41 is the external person or the inmate can be discriminated.
