Title:
CAMBER ANGLE CONTROL DEVICE FOR WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03231013
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide steering performance constantly proper according to a car speed by setting the camber angle of each wheel so that a cornering grip force on the rear wheel side is relatively decreased (increased) based on a cornering grip force on the front wheel side during low speed (high speed) cornering.

CONSTITUTION: Actuators 2, 4, 6, and 8 having hydraulic cylinder constitution to regulate the camber angle of each of respective pairs of front and rear wheels on both sides are provided. Electromagnetic type control valves 10, 12, 14, and 16 are located in a feed passage 18 connected to a position on the delivery side of a pump 20 so that the actuators 2-8, respectively, are controlled. The control valves 10-16 is controlled through a drive circuit 30 by means of a controller 32 to input output signals from a car speed sensor 40 and a steering sensor 38. Namely, the camber angle of each wheel is set so that during low speed (high speed) cornering, a cornering grip force on the rear wheel side is relatively decreased (increased) based on a cornering grip force on the front wheel side, and the control valves 10-16 are controlled so that a camber angle is adjusted to a set value.
