To provide a card edge connector capable of suppressing the deterioration of electrical connection reliability between a contact portion of a terminal and an electrode of a circuit board caused by relative displacement between the circuit board and a housing due to a difference in linear expansion coefficient.
A terminal constituting a card edge connector is obtained by punching a metal plate. In the terminal, a retention portion held by a housing has a plate width greater than a plate thickness. Meanwhile, a protruding portion projecting into an insertion space of the housing is configured such that a plate thickness direction extends along a depth direction. At least part of the plate width in the protruding portion is made smaller than the plate width of the retention portion so as to satisfy μN>P, where μ is a static friction coefficient between a contact portion and an electrode; N is a vertical load on the contact portion generated by spring force of the terminal; and P is force in the width direction applied to the contact portion which is required to bend the protruding portion in the width direction.
