To provide a carrying device capable of reducing the generation of a substrate crack when lifting up/down a substrate to/from a roller conveyor.
The carrying device 1 includes the roller conveyor 7 having a plurality of rollers 3 disposed aligned in an x-axis direction and a y-axis direction for supporting a lower face of a glass substrate 6, a plurality of supporting members 4 disposed between rotary shafts 2 of the rollers 3, and a lifting mechanism for lifting and lowering the supporting members 4 so that each of upper end levels of the supporting members moves vertically with respect to a plane including each of upper ends of the rollers 3. Arrangement intervals BPx_1 and BPx_2 of the rollers 3 in the x-axis direction are set larger than an arrangement interval BPy of the rollers 3 in the y-axis direction, and an arrangement interval APx of the supporting members 4 in the x-axis direction is set larger than an arrangement interval APy of the supporting members 4 in the y-axis direction.
