Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for providing holdover capability for an AC-DC converter. CONSTITUTION: A holdover circuit for an AC-DC converter consists of a power- factor correcting converter 115, having a first input, a DC-DC power converter 120 having a second input, and a holdover circuit 110 for providing voltage to the second input, in response to the service interruption of applied AC line voltage for carrying out the continuous operation of the DC-DC power converter. Accordingly, a holdover time can be maximized at a time when supply voltage is service-interrupted.
