Title:
CATALYTIC STRUCTURE FOR WASTE GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001000867
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a catalytic structure for waste gas with the deposition of catalyst increased and excellent in wear resistance.

This catalytic structure for waste gas is obtained by depositing a catalyst in and on the surface of a substrate formed by honeycombing an inorg.-fiber sheet, and a wear-resistant coating film is formed on the front and rear of an opening on the gas inlet side of the substrate and extended over a specified length toward an opening on the gas outlet side. In this case, the wear-resistant coating film 20 is appropriately formed over a specified distance L from the end of the opening on the gas inlet side to occupy 1/10 to 1/200 of the area of each face. Further, this coating film 20 is conveniently formed by dipping a substrate 10 in a coating agent to a depth of L, hence the substrates 10 are firmly attached to one another, and the film 20 is formed in uniform thickness.
