To obtain the subject cell, having a pair of specific chimeric receptors on a membrane surface, useful for selectively growing a cell or determining the antigen concentration as an index to the extent of the growth and applicable to the selection, etc., of an exogenote transfer cell.
This cell has a pair of chimeric receptors in which a VH region polypeptide of an antibody capable of specifically recognizing an antigen and a VL region polypeptide are respectively joined to a receptor (or its part) of a cell growth factor on a membrane surface. The cell is capable of selectively growing by the presence of an antigen molecule without essentially participating in the cell growth. Furthermore, the cell is obtained by transferring a vector DNA having a recombinant gene composed of a gene capable of coding the receptor of the cell growth factor and a gene capable of coding each of the VH region polypeptide capable of specifically recognizing the antigen and the VL region polypeptide into a cell and isolating a cell capable of growing in the presence of the antigen.
