Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conjugate fiber having a touch feeling of cellulose triacetate and excellent water absorptivity without an unpleasant feeling even after water absorption, and to provide a method for producing the conjugate fiber and its knitted or woven fabric. SOLUTION: This cellulose acetate conjugate fiber has a cross-sectional shape having an opening leading from a hollow part to the fiber surface in one site of the hollow cross section and comprises the outer periphery of the conjugate fiber composed of a cellulose triacetate having >=56.2 and <=62.5% average acetylation degree and the surface of the hollow part composed of cellulose or a cellulose acetate having <48.8% average acetylation degree. The method for producing the cellulose acetate conjugate fiber comprises using a spinneret having spinning holes of a shape in which a part of a circle is excised with one straight line and the angle θ of the intersecting points of the straight line and the circle to the center of the circle is >=60 and <=120 deg., discharging the cellulose diacetate and the cellulose triacetate so that the cellulose diacetate is arranged on the straight line side and the cellulose triacetate is arranged on the circular side and carrying out an alkali saponifying treatment of the resultant conjugate fiber.
