Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a chain conveyor where a part or a plural number of portions of a line can be increased in speed by providing an accelerating means which can freely press/separate a horizontal pusher plate to/from the lower surface of rollers from below, below the rollers at least, in a part of the range of a feed chain line.
CONSTITUTION: When a chain 14 is driven in a state that a carried article is rested thereon, the rolling of a carrier roller 21 over a chain rail permits the carrier roller to be moved together with a chain 14 while a roller 20 is being supported, so that the roller 20 feeds the carried article. When the roller 20 is moved on an accelerating means 26, and if a pusher plate 24 of the accelerating means 26 is pushed upward by an air cylinder means, the roller 20 is rollingly brought into contact with the upper surface of the pusher plate 24. Therefore, the roller 20 is brought into contact with the chain rail so as to be pulled up by the chain 14, so that the roller is thereby rotated by itself. This constitution thereby allows the circumferential speed of the roller 20 due to rotation by itself to be applied to the carried article in addition to the moving speed of the chain 14, so that the carried article is accelerated in speed to a great extent so as to be carried on.
