Abstract:

To provide a charging controller capable of sufficiently reducing a dispersion in the amount of charging among the batteries by lengthening an essential work time of a bypass circuit.

A transistor 9 of a bypass circuit is switched on from a point in time when the terminal voltage Vc of a cell has reached a target voltage (Vs-) set to a value lower by a predetermined value o from the upper limit voltage Vs for charging cells 1a to 1n constituting a set of batteries 1, increasing characteristics of a bypass current i at that time are made gentler by a restricting amount (i) corresponding to the bypass current i, and charging is performed until the terminal voltage of the cell reaches the upper limit voltage Vs. By doing this, the operation time of a bypass circuit can be increased.
