Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst component for producing an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer which is narrow in molecular weight distribution and compositional distribution and excellent in morphological property and processability by reacting an Mg-Al amide complex compound containing chelate ligand with a transition-metal halide compound.
SOLUTION: A chelating transition-metal compound is produced by reacting Mg[AlR'(OR)3]2 (wherein R and R' are each an alkyl or an aryl) with an amide ligand to prepare a chelate ligand-containing Mg-Al-amide complex compound, and then reacting the complex compound with a transition-metal halide compound, MX4 (wherein M is Ti or Zr; X is a halogen). As the amide ligand compound, can be used a carbodiimide type compound or a diketiminato type compound. The chelating transition-metal compound (a catalytic component) is used in a combination with a carrier component, MgCl2 and an aluminum cocatalytic component.
