PURPOSE: To obtain a claw base vertical mover capable of steplessly performing the adjustment of the height of a claw base corresponding to the thickness of a paper only by turning an adjusting screw without removing the claw base, etc., by forming the contact face between an adjusting bar and the claw base bar into a tapered form inclined toward the thickwise direction.

CONSTITUTION: An adjusting bar 28 extending in the axial direction of a cylinder is coupled with plural adjusting screws 27 supported on the inner wall 22 side of the notched portion of the cylinder. A claw base bar 40 for setting a claw base is provided in parallel on the outside of the radial direction of the cylinder in relation to the adjusting bar 28, the contact face between the adjusting bar 28 and the claw base bar 40 is formed into a tapered form inclined toward the thickwise direction, and the claw base bar 40 is radially advanced or set back through the advancing or retreating movement of the adjusting bar 28 by means of the rotation of an adjusting screw 27.
