Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently clean a fixing roll by specifying its essential components and the oil migratability on its one front surface side.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning web 1 consists essentially of fibers having ≥200°C m.p. and/or nonmeltable fibers (both are generically termed 'heat resistant fibers') and are bonded by fusion and/or entanglement of fibers. The term 'consist essentially' signifies that the content of the heat resistant fibers exceeds 50wt.% of the entire part of the web. The heat resistant fibers usable in such a case are exemplified by arom. polyamide fibers, etc., of an ortho, meta or para system. This web 1 has the constitution that the oil migratability on one front surface side of the two front surface sides is ≥2 times, more preferably ≥3 times the oil migratability of the other front surface side. The term 'oil migratability' refers to the property that the oil not impregnated in the web 1 migrates to the fixing roll 5 when the web 1 and the fixing roll 5 come into contact.
