To obtain a clothing presser wherein an upper iron descends and performs pressing when both start buttons provided on a table are depressed, and ascends when a back button is depressed, and the upper iron also descends when one of the start buttons is depressed, and ascends when that start button is released.

When a start button is depressed, a start switch 15 is turned on so that a relay R1 is excited, simultaneously, a switch R11 is turned off, and a switch R12 is turned on so that a solenoid valve 17 is turned on. Thereby, an upper iron descends. If the start button is released from depression, the start switch is turned off; the excitation of the relay R1 is released; and the solenoid valve 17 is turned off. Thereby, the upper iron ascends. If the two start buttons are both depressed to turn on the start switches 15 and 16, the relays R1 and R2 become and continue to be self-excited, thereby the upper iron descends. The descent of the upper iron continues until a back button is depressed to turn off a back switch 14.
