Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a cobalt extractant which comprises a specified phosphoric diester, can be synthesized relatively simply and inexpensively, and exhibits a cobalt selectivity which is higher than those of org. phosphonates.

CONSTITUTION: A phosphoric diester of formula I is used as a cobalt extractant. In the formula I, R1 is a (substd.) cyclic alkyl group; R2 is a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl group, cyclic alkyl group, aralkyl group or aryl group; X is a hydrogen atom, a mono- or di-valent metal ion.
