PURPOSE: To obtain a coil position adjusting device for a signal pickup device capable of adjusting with high accuracy and in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: When a pair of a driving coil 5, 6 are arranged and opposed to a permanent magnet displacing a reproduction scanning needle, the AC current of opposite phase is made to flow through these driving coils 5, 6. By a magnetic field detecting means 12, magnetic field formed by the AC current is detected in the vicinity of one side magnetic pole of the permanent magnet. By a phase comparing means 13, the phase of the magnetic field detected by the magnetic field detecting means 12 and the phase of the AC current are compared, when a phase difference between them is not zero, an adjustment amount signal in accordance with the phase difference is outputted. By a magnetic field discriminating means 14, whether the intensity of the detected magnetic field is zero or not is discriminated, and when the intensity of the magnetic field is not zero, the adjustment amount signal in accordance with the intensity of the magnetic field is outputted. Then, a position adjusting mechanism 8 is adjusted so that the output of the magnetic field discriminating means 14 and the phase comparing means 13 are approached to zero. Preferably, a display means 15 displaying respectively the output condition of the phase comparing means 13 and the output condition of the magnetic field discriminating means 14 is provided. Further preferably, an operating means operating automatically the position adjusting mechanism 8 by inputting successively the output of the magnetic field discriminating means 14 and the phase comparing means 13 is provided.
