To correctly determine that a collision is either a fully lapped collision or an offset collision and provide setting values different from each other.
An airbag control system controls an air bag to be developed or not to be developed at a time of crash of a vehicle. The airbag control system has first and second sensors disposed at different positions from each other at a front portion of the vehicle. Calculated values VL(TL), VR(TL), VL(TR), VR(TR) at a time points (TL, TR) when calculated values (VL(n), VR(n)) of outputs of the first and second sensors exceed predetermined threshold values, respectively, are found. The equation VL(TL)-VR(TL)-VL(TR)-VR(TR)=ΔVT1 is used to find ΔVT1 from the above calculated values and in the case of the ΔVT1 being smaller than the predetermined threshold value, it is determined that the crash is the fully lapped collision.
