Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide color filters having good quality and to provide an apparatus for producing these color filters.
CONSTITUTION: Respective colored pixels 2 of R, G, B are formed in a pattern form on a glass substrate GB, and further, light shielding layers 1 are so formed as to cover the boundary parts of the adjacent colored pixels 2 and to overlap at the ends of the respective adjacent colored pixels 2. Since the light shielding layers 1 are so formed as to overlap on the boundary parts of the respective colored pixels 2, the intrusion of air between the light shielding layers 1 and the colored pixels 2 and the peel up of the colored pixels 2 as with the conventional color filters do not arise. These color filters are produced by an apparatus for production equipped with first to fourth production units. Namely, the colored pixels 2 of the three colors, R, G, B are continuously formed by the first to third production units and thereafter, the light shielding layers 1 are formed by the fourth production unit.
