To provide a compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp in which a fluorescent lamp and a lighting device are housed in an envelope of nearly the same dimension as an incandescent lamp made of a globe and a cover body and which has a relatively high arc tube power, and which has a high reliability of lighting device by efficiently radiating the heat inside the cover to the outside of the cover and suppressing thermal effect received by the electronic components.
The lamp has a relatively high heat generating amount during lighting as at least a part of electronic components mounted on a circuit board of the lighting device is connected to the cover inner face through a thermal conductive substance, and a relatively high arc tube power is inputted in a small size lamp. However, that heat can be efficiently radiated to the outside through the thermal conductive substance, thereby, particularly thermal damage of the lighting device can be suppressed.
