Title:
COMPOSITE FEED TYPE RADAR ANTENNA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2621703
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the effect of a primary reflecting plate on the radiation directionality of a horn antenna by setting the difference between the distances from the primary reflecting plates of a dipole antenna fitted with two pairs of reflecting plates to the aperture of the horn antenna to a specific length.
CONSTITUTION: The difference between the distance between the aperture of the horn antenna 1 being the primary feed part of a primary radar antenna and the primary reflecting plates 3a, 3d of a secondary radar antenna and the distance between the aperture of the antenna 1 and the primary reflecting plates 3b, 3c of the secondary radar antenna is set to about 1/4 the wavelength of the high frequency signal of the primary radar antenna. By this constitution, the difference between the routes reaching a secondary reflecting plate 7 from the antenna 1 through the reflecting plates 3a, 3d and the reflecting plates 3b, 3c becomes 1/2 the wavelength and the signals reflected from the reflecting plates 3a, 3d and the signals reflected from the reflecting plates 3a, 3d are negated each other. Therefore, the effect of the antenna of the primary radar on the antenna 1 due to the reflecting plates 3a-3d can be reduced as compared with one stage type primary reflection.
