PURPOSE: To obtain a hydroxylamine oxidation preventing agent which is odorless and is stable after the agent is subjected to oxidation by incorporating a specific hydroxylamine compd. into the agent.
CONSTITUTION: The hydroxylamine compd. of the compsn. for developing a silver halide color photographic material contg. the hydroxylamine compd. is the compsn. expressed by formula I or formula II. In the formulas I, II, Stab is independently such stabilizing groups that the degradation in the pH of a test developing soln. compounded with the lithium salt of sulfonated polystyrene, triethanol amine, stilbene contaminating decreasing agent, the hydroxylamine compd., lithium sulfate, etc., is <0.12 in aeration time of 90 hours when the hydroxylamine compd. is added to the test developing soln. as the amt. per 1 liter; R is a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl group or aryl group or heterocyclic group bonded to N by carbon atoms.
