To obtain a composition resisting to skin aging by preventing the skin from decreasing in its thickness.
This composition is obtained by containing, in a suitable carrier, at least one substance having activity for trophicity of the skin nerve, and/or one nerve-stimulating substance, and/or one nerve-activating substance, and/or one nerve-mediating substance. Preferably, the substance having the activity for the trophicity of the skin nerve is active on the sensory skin nerve and comprises a nerve growth factor, a polyethylene glycol (PEG), a glycosaminoglycan (GAG), and the like. The nerve-stimulating substance and the nerve-activating substance are capsicosides, capsidiols, capsaicinoids such as capsaxanthin and capsaicins, or extracts of plants such as paprika, red pepper and pepper. The nerve-mediating substance are substance P, vasoative intestinal polypeptide (VIP), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP), neuropeptide Y, gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP), acetylcholine, and the like.
