Abstract:

To realize lower fuel consumption by improving efficiency in a low rotation and high load area, where compressive ignition combustion is comparatively easily performed.

In this compressive ignition type internal combustion engine, a compression ratio CR is set to 13.5-16.5. A supercharger is installed, and a supercharged pressure Pc is set to a value, where an illustrated average effective pressure obtained in the setting compression ratio becomes maximum, in a range of 25-75 kPa (CR=15, Pc=50 kPa). This hybrid automobile is constituted with such a compressive ignition type internal combustion engine and an electric motor as drive sources, and a motor operating mode is set as a low output area operating mode.
