Abstract:
To provide an improved configuration in a paper machine, in which a vertical-impingement unit is used.
There is provided the configuration in the paper machine or similar machines, which includes a press section 11 equipped with one or more press nips 13.1 and 13.2, and a drying section composed of a web-supporting web-transfer part. There are pre-impingement drying part 20 and a vertical impingement dryer part 21 which are compactly disposed between the press and a first drying cylinder. In order to pre-heat a paper web, the pre-impingement drying part 20 for directly spraying onto the paper web is disposed right back of the press section 11 and also right in front of the vertical impingement drying part 21.
