To provide a connecting device of simple and low-priced structure which is capable of conducting connecting work of two vehicles easily and promptly.
This connecting device is constituted of clamping means 11, 12 fitted on the first vehicle 1 and engaging members 33, 34 fitted on the second vehicle 2. By clamping the engaging members 33, 34 on the second vehicle 2 side from the orthogonal direction to the traveling direction of the first vehicle 1 with clamping means 11, 12 on the first vehicle 1 side, the first vehicle 1 and the second vehicle 2 are connected. Namely, by clamping the engaging members 33, 34 with the clamping means 11, 12 when the engaging members 33, 34 exist in the range of the clamping operation of the clamping means 11, 12, it is possible to connect the first vehicle 1 and the second vehicle 2, and establish positioning accuracy between the first vehicle 1 and the second vehicle 2 roughly at the time of connecting work, thus providing prompt connecting work by decreased positioning time.
