To provide a contact seal for a ball screw, capable of suppressing the leakage of lubricant filled in the nut of the ball screw between a screw groove formed in the screw shaft outer peripheral face of the ball screw and an elastic seal piece.
The contact seal for the ball screw comprises the thin elastic seal piece 12 formed at the inside peripheral edge of a seal ring 10 formed of an elastic material all over the periphery of the seal ring 10, wherein the front end of the elastic seal piece 12 is put in contact with the screw groove formed in the screw shaft outer peripheral face of the ball screw to seal the internal of the nut of the ball screw. The elastic seal piece 12 is inclined to the nut side of the ball screw, and a reinforcing rib 16 is provided on the elastic seal piece 12 in contact with the nut side frank of the screw groove for reinforcing the elastic seal piece 12.
