Abstract:
To provide a method for producing tetracyclododecenes efficiently by thermally decomposing high boiling point byproducts and circulating the decomposition products into a reaction process or a separation process.
This continuous method for producing tetracyclododecenes is characterized by reacting 2-norbornenes, cyclopentadiene or dicyclopentadiene with an olefin to produce the tetracyclododecenes having a specific structure and thermally decomposing the high boiling byproducts while leaving a part of the high boiling byproducts to produce each of the above compounds and recovering them.
