Abstract:

PURPOSE: To contrive higher operating efficiency and working efficiency, by providing a coating machine for applying a hardener to a printed surface, on the downstream of a printing press for printing in a non-quick-drying ink.

CONSTITUTION: A corrugated fiberboard sheet S is printed, for example, in a first color by a first printing press 2 and in a second color in a second printing press 3, using oil-based inks. A coating machine 12 is so constructed that a hardener is released from a liquid fountain mechanism 14 to coating roll 15, by which it is applied to a printed surface of the corrugated fiberboard sheet S. Therefore, the printing inks on the sheet S performs a chemical reaction with the hardener, and is immediately hardened. The sheet S in then supplied to a creasaer-slotter 17, in which the sheet S is marked with ruled lines at folding parts and provided with slots for forming folding flaps. The sheet S is then fed into a folding device 18, in which the sheet S is folded, and is fed to, for example, a stocker device for stocking the folded sheets in a stack.
