To provide a control device of a drive unit for a vehicle which can properly perform the drive control of an engine even at the slip of the vehicle and the non-slip of the vehicle, in the drive unit for the vehicle having a differential mechanism which outputs power from the engine to drive wheels and in which a differential state is controlled by a differentiating electric motor.
A hybrid control means 86 principally controls the engine 8 on the basis of a differential part actual output rotation speed being an actual rotation speed of an output rotating member 19. Then, at the slip of the vehicle 6, the hybrid control means controls the engine 8 on the basis of a vehicle-speed reference output rotation speed corresponding to an actual vehicle speed V in place of the differential part actual output rotation speed. Accordingly, the drive control of the engine 8 can properly be performed so that engine power does not become unnecessarily large at the slip. Furthermore, since the engine 8 is basically controlled on the basis of the actual rotation speed of the output rotating member 19, the drive control of the engine 8 can also properly be performed even at the case other than the slip of the vehicle 6.
