To reduce the power consumed by a two-way communications type control device (e.g. vehicle entry device) and enhance the anti-theft property of the device, etc., the device performing some control after portable equipment is started by the transmission of power from main equipment and verification is made.

After the transmission of power as a start signal is executed, the main equipment 20, on determining that the portable equipment 10 is started, transmits a request signal including an ID code at a frequency different from that at which the power is transmitted, and an answer signal including the ID code is sent back from the portable equipment 10 as an answer to the request signal. When receiving the answer signal, the main equipment 20 executes some control after verifying the ID code.
