To provide a charging/discharging control method capable of eliminating the memory effect of individual battery blocks while maintaining an extra charging/discharging capacity of a battery unit comprising a plurality of battery blocks at a desired level.
The charging/discharging control method controls charging and discharging in a battery unit 2 comprising a plurality of battery blocks 3A-3D. It includes the following steps: step (a) of detecting the occurrence of memory effect on discharge side for each of the plurality of battery blocks 3A-3D; step (b) of setting a charging/discharging range of the battery block where the occurrence of memory effect is detected in the step (a) to be a low remaining capacity adaptive range shifted from a normal range, i.e., a normal charging/discharging range, to a low remaining capacity side; and step (c) of setting the charging/discharging range of at least one battery block, other than the battery block for which the charging/discharging range has been set in the step (b), to be a high remaining capacity adaptive range shifted to a high remaining capacity side from the normal range.
