A control valve 10 used for a pilot-operated steering device is provided with lateral steering passages 35, 34 for communicating lateral steering pilot lines 27, 26 to a tank, second and first orifice means 37, 36 disposed between the lateral steering passages 35, 34 and the tank 13, and fourth and third orifice means 42, 41 disposed at the lateral steering passages. A pilot valve 48 communicates the first and second orifice means and cuts off, and a selector 51 transmits higher pressure between the right steering pilot line and left steering pilot line to the end part of the pilot valve 48.
