Abstract:
To provide a controlled weft brake for braking the weft in a weaving machine, and to make usable a weaving machine having a shorter reacting time than that of the latest technology and a comparatively economically producible weft brake.
A controlled weft brake for braking a weft 10 of a weaving machine is proposed, wherein the weft brake has a brake band 3 and a brake body 2 and the weft brake 1 has a magnet 6 and a rotatable or swingable lever 4. The brake 4 is connected with the brake band 3 and thereby, to enable to press the brake band on the brake body 2 so as to brake the weft, a force pulling the brake band in the longitudinal direction is made workable by the magnet 6.
