Abstract:

To enhance an estimation precision of a second physical quantity by constituting a means for estimating either of the absolute speed or a relative speed on the basis of a first physical quantity as a second physical quantity with an observer having as input variable a non-linear component of the damping force of a damper which is determined in accordance with the orifice opening and the relative speed.

Symbols fd(Zw9-Zb9, P) represents a damping force of the damper which is determined by the relative speed and the open position P. The damping force of damper is divided into a linear component Co.(Zw9-Zb9, P) and a non-linear component fnl(Zw9-Zb9) with the result that an influence by the non-linear component is reduced. Besides, Co is a damping constant which is represented as Fd(Zw9-Zb9, P)=Co.(Zw9-Zb9, P)+fnl(Zw9-Zb9, P). Here the non-linear component fnl is regarded as an input constant U of the observer so that Uob=fnl(Zwob9-Zbob9, P) is provided. The non-linear generator 26a outputs an estimated input constant Uob, and Uob corresponds to the non-linear component fnl(Zwob9-Zbob9, P). As a consequence, the damping force of the damper can be controlled with precision.
